Elders

Don Hunt
Elder
Don's passion is making the church what God would have it be: A body devoted to winning the lost to him and nurturing those who come. Don puts his faith in the Lord to lead him, relying on God and praying for His guidance. "We need to remember that this is His doing, not ours; and continue following Him."
Don was raised in the Christian Church, as a child in Hermiston, and later as a youth in Coburg.  As a young adult, Don spent 18 years in LA learning about the world and attending no church. On Easter Sunday in 1983, Don brought his family to Beavercreek Christian Church (now Stone Creek), and has been here ever since.

He has served in various ministries - primarily finance, worship, and education - and has also served as head of the evangelism ministry for a number of years.  Don has been an elder for approximately 20 years.

John loves being a part of the Stone Creek family and working towards its mission within the framework of loving God and loving people. John has spent his career in various financial management positions, and is currently employed as the CFO of E.E. Schenck Company in Portland. John enjoys spending time with family and friends, and pursuing a variety of outdoor activities, including running, hiking and skiing.
John has been married to the love of his life, Debbie, for 28 years. Together, they have raised two wonderful children who are both away from home pursuing their education and preparing for the next step in their life journeys. John grew up knowing of God, but not knowing God. In his early 20’s he truly encountered God for the first time, and was baptized into Christ. Since then he has been active in a couple different East County churches in various ministries including finance team, children’s ministry, youth ministry, and small group leader. Two scripture verses John tries to live by are: Matthew 22:37-39 – Jesus replied: “ ’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ “Psalm 119:105 – Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

Jerry Teeter
Elder
Jerry enjoys anything outdoors and spends a lot of time hunting. Jerry was employed by the Oregon Bank for four years, but later pursued carpentry. Jerry has a servant's heart and is always ready to help others when needed.
Jerry was born and raised in Oregon. He married his wife Sue in 1968 and left to attend college for 4 years in Tennessee; graduating from Milligan College in 1972. Upon returning from school he attended Central Christian Church in Portland with his family and three children. In 1984 the Teeter's began attending Beaver Creek Christian Church (now Stone Creek) to be closer to home.

Two of Jerry's favorite passages of scripture are Psalm 1:1-3 and Psalm 119:9-16.

Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.

How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word. I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Praise be to you, O LORD; teach me your decrees. With my lips I recount all the laws that come from your mouth. I rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches. I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways. I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word.
