...feels like home

Our Mission

where-are-you1Our mission is loving Obedience to God. We draw this conclusion from the Words of Jesus.

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” -Matthew 22:37-40

Simple? Not really. Loving obedience to God it is actually a lifetime journey, but once one gets on the path, it is an unbelievable adventure.  Even the hard times in life just have a different meaning when smothered in God’s love and comfort.

If you read this right now and you remain skeptical just know that the missing ingredient is God’s love in the hearts of broken people.  Even those that will never accept His love know deep down inside that God exists and is the creator of all.

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature-have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. -Romans 1:20

It is unfortunate, but true, that we are all broken people.  Followers of Jesus have just realized that the brokenness is healed through the sacrifice He made on our behalf.  So we seek a deeper relationship with God and in doing so we grow in our passion to share His love with others.

We grab on to the mission as directed by Jesus, “love God and love people.”  We express that love in a variety of ways with one objective in mind, loving obedience to God.

Through the church family, loving obedience is expressed in our desire to again heed the words of Jesus, to “…go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” -Matthew 28:19-20

And so, as we seek to be faithful to His mission for us, we journey to joyfully love and serve Him with every aspect of our lives.
